In a series of gas explosion, an official has described the blast as the Armageddon which has killed a teenager as well as injured about ten other people. It has ignited the fires in at least about 39 homes in about three communities which is present at the north of Boston on Thursday. It has forced the entire neighborhoods to evacuate as the crew had scrambled to fight the flames as well as they shut off the gas.
As per authorities, Leonel Rondon, who is 18 year of old, from Lawrence has now died after the chimney has toppled by getting exploded, and the house got crashed into his car. After that, he was immediately rushed towards the Boston hospital where he had pronounced dead in the evening.
Massachusetts State Police have urged all the residents whose homes are serviced by Columbia gas in Lawrence, Andover and North Andover on order to evacuate as well as snarl the traffic which is now causing widespread of confusion as the residents along with local officials have now started to struggle to understand what is happening.
According to Andover Fire Chief Michael Mansfield, said to the reporters that this looks like Armageddon. There is huge smoke which is blowing from Lawrence and can see pillars of smoke which are present in front of me and from the town of Andover.
He added by saying that this place is the active scene for now, but there will be plenty of time to determine the exact reason for which this incident took place. After hours of explosions, the officials of the parent company has issued a statement which says that the crews were present to perform the safety checks in the area. The Indiana-based NiSource said this.
